Officejet 7110
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I installed the latest firmware ( 2020D-2021B from 3 june 2020 ) on an Officejet 7110 which adresses some security issues in the network component. The printer worked fine without any issues before this firmware update, however now everytime I print bitmap images it prints thin black line around bitmaps. It's not on every image or on all sides. On the same image sometimes its just upper left corner, next time it's only bottom line etc.. I reinstalled windows drivers, checked every option possible without solution. So if there is no solution from you guys at least tell me how to switch back to old firmware? Here is the image of the problem. Thanks

Welcome to the HP support community.

Did you make a copy and check if the issue appears?

Did you uninstall the printer driver from root level before instaling the new driver?

If not, follow the below steps:

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.

Download and install printer full feature driver

Click here to download the driver.

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.

Tried it, did not solve the issue. The problem is with every bitmap image no matter how many copies I print it's allways the same.

  • There is no option to downgrade the firmware on the printer. Have you tried printing JPEG or PDF files to check if the issue persists?
  • This could be an application-specific issue if it is happening only with Bitmap images.
  • Check for any pending windows update on the computer.
  • If the issue persists only with this file type, contact Microsoft for further assistance.

Keep us posted for any other assistance.

Hi,

Problem persists when printing everything that is image(jpg, png, bitmap, ttf). No matter which program I use(CorelDraw, Photoshop, Adobe reader etc..)
When I turn image to vector using CorelDraw then it's ok, but some images I cannot turn into vector without losing quality. That's why this problem bothers me so much.

Use the HP Smart app to print photos from your Win PC and check if that helps.

Click here to download and know more about the app.

Let me know how it goes.
