Hi @Jess_kk,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When you encounter a message like "printer failure- Contact HP for support" on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium without an error code, it often indicates a serious issue that requires attention. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot.
- Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check for Paper Jams: Open all the access doors of the printer and check for any jammed paper or foreign objects inside the printer. If you find any, carefully remove them.
- Inspect Ink Cartridges: Make sure that all ink cartridges are properly installed and that there are no empty or faulty cartridges. Re-seat the cartridges if necessary.
- Reset the Printer: Perform a power reset by unplugging the printer from the power source while it is still turned on. Wait for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Update Firmware/Drivers: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP support website. Also, make sure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer.
- Check for Hardware Issues: If the problem persists, there may be a hardware issue with the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
