Hi, my printer wont print and I don’t know what to do. I already refilled the ink and it has paper, and it still wont work . It shows that it has an error but I don’t know where.

Hi @Arletys,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I know how frustrating it is when your HP printer won’t print even though the ink is full and the paper is loaded. Let’s walk through the most effective steps to identify and fix the issue.

1. Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

HP has a built-in tool in the HP Smart app that can automatically detect and fix common issues like:

  • Stuck print jobs
  • Offline printer status
  • Driver mismatches
  • Print spooler errors

👉Use Diagnose & Fix in the HP app to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support

2. Check for Ink System Errors

If your printer shows a general error but doesn’t specify where:

  • Make sure the printer is placed level on a flat surface.
  • Open the ink access door and inspect for:
    • Leaks or ink spills
    • Misaligned cartridges
    • Protective tape is still on new cartridges

3. Clean the Printhead

Even full cartridges can fail to print if the printhead is clogged:

  • Open the HP Smart app or printer control panel.
  • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
  • Run the cleaning cycle and try printing again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
