HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M283cdw printer screen is black and not responding, and the printer is showing offline on the computer. Unplugging the printer per HP instructions has not helped. When I power cycle the printer, it does make normal starting noises and I can hear the print engine cycling, but the screen is dead and the printer will not connect.

Hi @emm8x,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Hope you doing well! Do not worry, I'd be happy to help you!

I see that you are facing the black screen and your printer is not responding.

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.

Hard reset: Perform a hard reset by turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source, and holding the power button down for about 30 seconds. Then, plug it back in and turn it on.

Check control panel connections: If there's no response after the reset, inspect the connections between the control panel and the printer's internal components. Loose connections might cause display problems.

If none of these steps work and the screen remains black and unresponsive, it's advisable to contact HP customer support for further assistance as it could be a hardware issue.

You may also refer to this document for further assistance.

Keep me posted on the results.
