Hi @JohnP37,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your OfficeJet 9010 is displaying a message stating "printer head missing," there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a couple of minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on again. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues.

Check Printer Head Connection: Open the printer cover and ensure that the printer head is properly installed and securely seated in its carriage. If it's loose, reseat it properly.

Clean the Contacts: The contacts on both the printer head and the printer carriage should be clean and free of any debris. Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the contacts.

Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually find firmware updates on the Hp website or through the printer's settings menu.

Replace Printer Head: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, there may be a problem with the printer head itself. In this case, you may need to replace the printer head or the Printer

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
