Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 running with Windows 7 (64-bit), it was running fine and out of the blue when put on, send error: "The printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrrectly installed". I have offed an on back again 2 o 3 times, but the problem continues. Can you please help me fix it?

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, your printer is giving an error message "The printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed"

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

Here a few steps we could try to resolve the issue: Click here

Step 1: Use genuine HP cartridges

Step 2: Reset the printer

Step 3: Unseat the printhead

Step 4: Reseat the printhead, and then lower the carriage latch

Step 5: Reseat the printhead up to three times

Step 6: Remove the ink cartridges, and then check the error message

Step 7: Clean the ink cartridge contacts, and then check the error message

Step 8: Update the printer firmware

Let me know how this goes,

Cheers!
