Remove and reinstall the indicated ink cartridge, making sure it is correctly installed.  

 

This message has appeared for a week now after every page I print.  I have installed a new cartridge supplied by HP and I still get the error.

Sany suggestions.

I see from your post that you're getting Ink cartridge error message on your HP Printer. Don't worry I'll be glad to help you.

 

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

What is the product number of the printer?Use this link to find it:  https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03754824  (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

Have you tried to clean the ink cartridge contact? 

Have you followed any troubleshooting steps before posting this on HP Support Forums?

 

Could you please respond to this post with the details of the product so that I can provide you with an accurate steps which should help you resolve this issue.

Jeet,

I have an HP Envy 4520.

Yes, I have cleaned the contacts.

Yes, I followed the troubleshooting recommendations.

I have also, install a new ink cartridge as instructed.

After the new cartridge was installed, I still received the same message.

I am taking out and putting back the black ink cartridge after nearly every print job and sometimes in the middle of a print job.

 

Any suggestions?

It's great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.

 

In this scenario, I would suggest you try these steps here: 

 

Let's start off by updating the printer firmware. If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to install the latest firmware update on your printer from our HP support website. Alternatively you can also try to update the printer firmware directly from the printer control panel. Once done, restart the computer.

If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to do a hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

 

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

 

Next thing, I would suggest here is to follow the steps suggested in the support document for - HP Printers - 'Incompatible Ink Cartridge' or 'Ink Cartridges Missing' Error Displays
