Hi all -

I'm receiving the following error message:

"The print carriage cannot move. Open the cartridge access door, clear any paper jam or obstruction, and select OK."

Which, of course, I tried. There is nothing in the way of the carriage, and I can manually move the carriage across the track when the printer is on. However, no matter how many times I restart the printer, attempt to clear any "obstructions" (of which there are none), re-insert the ink cartridges, and change power outlets, the error message remains the same.

Please help! I received this printer "brand new" (oh bother) for $25 at a garage sale, and it looks to be in perfect condition, save this one major setback.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Have you tried all the steps from here? https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-6970-all-in-one-printer-series/8289585/model/1... and https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-6970-all-in-one-printer-series/8289585/model/1...

Try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!
