My printer had been working fine but suddenly has gone into error mode and is requiring me to Use SETUP Cartridges, my original setup cartridges are long gone and I've been through I don't know how many other cartridges (all genuine HP).  I have updated the firmware, tried to factory reset through the web browser (which didn't seem to work), tried cleaning the contacts  for the cartridges and tried new cartridges but it still stays stuck in the setup mode.  Is there a way to bypass this on this model of printer?

Hi @AdamC74FI,

We would have to perform an OOBE reset on the printer to bypass the error

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have the same exact issue, but I don't know how to perform a oobe reset. How can I do that?

The advice I got was to

Open the ink cartridge access door.

Press and hold the Wireless button for 3 seconds.

Close the access door

Hope that helps.. 🙂
