HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Changed display brightness and accidentally changed from English to Spanish. I can’t find a way to get back to English. Can't read spanish and home icon not showing. Going back, unplugging, rebooting not working.

Hi @caseriggs,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for reaching out. I can understand how frustrating it can feel when something as simple as a language change makes your printer feel completely unfamiliar. Let’s walk through this together and gently guide your HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e back to English, step by step.

Even though the display is currently showing Spanish, you don’t need to read the language — I’ll help you navigate by position and feel.

These instructions rely on button positions, not language, so you can follow even if you don’t understand Spanish.

1. From the main screen, press the Back Arrow (↩) repeatedly until you're at the top-level menu. If you’re stuck, turn off the printer and turn it back on.

2. Press the gear icon (⚙️) to enter Settings

If no icon is visible, try pressing the bottom row right-most button on the screen (Settings is usually at the bottom of the main menu or second from the end).

3. In the Settings menu (Configuración):

Look for “Preferencias” (Preferences).
It’s usually the third option in the list.

4. In “Preferencias”:

Scroll and select “Idioma” (Language)

5. Choose “Inglés (English)” from the list

Once selected, the display will revert to English instantly.

If You Still Can’t Find It:

You can reset the printer to default factory settings, which will also reset the language:

⚠️ Warning: This will erase custom settings like Wi-Fi configuration.

Factory Reset Steps:

  1. On the printer, go to Settings (⚙️)
  2. Tap “Mantenimiento de la impresora” (Printer Maintenance)
  3. Choose “Restaurar configuración predeterminada” (Restore Defaults)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
