I have issues with my colour cartridge - new one doesn't want to show, message i'm getting is: older generation - but i'm using the right one HP304XL

Hello,


What is the exact model of your printer (e.g. CB747A)?
To locate this Product Number P/N: this document.

 

What operating system are you under? (e.g. Windows 10 or macOS 10.14)

What is the expiration date of the color cartridge?

If the problem persists, please update the printer firmware as follows:

  1. Open the HP Smart application.
  2. In the HP Smart app, click the icon of your printer.
  3. Under the Settings category, click Advanced Settings.
  4. Click the Tools tab, then develop Printer Updates, and then click Firmware Updates.
  5. Click the Check Now button, to install the latest firmware version of the printer.

Please access the Updated HP 63, 65, 123, 302, 304, 652, 664, 680, and 803 Ink Cartridges section.

tri-color message

In order to palliate this incident, please follow the instructions of the HP link Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge.

If the issue persists, please update the printer's firmware using a USB connection from the following HP link:

Windows: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/DJ2600_1923A_win/DJ2600_R1923A.exe

macOS: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/DJ2600_1923A_mac/DJ2600_1923A.dmg
