Photosmart c310

Hi

my printer is starting to print pages out of alignment.  i.e one side has plenty of white before the text is printed but then the other side is text right until the end of the page. not sure if this is a feed alignment problem so its going up into the printing area incorrectly? how would i resolve this? i hope i have explained this problem correctly.  its really frustrating as i need to print word and pdf documents to review.printer issue.jpg

@clairelouise01, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To be able to assist you better, I'd like to know the following-

  • What happens when you make photocopies on the printer?
  • What is the Operating System installed on the computer?
  • Does the print preview look good before you send the print job to the printer?
  • Which application are you trying to print from?

Meanwhile, refer to the document Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP Photosmart Premium e-All-in-One Printer Series (C310) for help.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi TEJ1602,

here are the answers to your questions:

  1. i haven't ever made photocopies on the printer
  2. operating system is windows 10
  3. yes it looks good before printing but comes out with a massive margin and prints to the end with no margin
  4. your HP smart app that ive installed on my HP laptop
  5. ive had a look at the print quality problems document, but it isnt ink or paper quality thats the problem, its somekind of margin or paper alignment issue which you can see from the photo i attached to the post?

thank you!

Thanks for replying!

Try making copies on the printer, this will help us further isolate the issue.

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:

1) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2) Select your HP Printer

3) Select Uninstall

4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe”

😎 Click on the “Drivers” tab

9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10) Select Ok

11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12) Close Devices and Printers.

Use this link to download and install the new driver. Configure the printer and try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
