Hello HP community.
I am trying to scan a document from my printer to my computer with a USB cable. It's the easiest way of doing it at the moment. The problem is that i can't get that to work. I get a I/O communication error which says i have to reboot the printer, and try again. But it doesn't work that either. I've reinstalled all drivers and updated them, but it still does not work. It have worked all fine before, can it have something with the new Windows 10 update? First time i try to scan after the windows 10 update. And of course, I have rebooted my computer aswell, and updated the firmware on the printer. I've tried everything haha!
I've tried to google it too, but all i get is other having the i/o communication problems on other units.
All help would be appriciated, because i mainly use my printer to scan documents to my computer.
Thanks.
Best regards,
Martin

I have exactly the same problem with my Xpress C480X and it appeared unexpectedly. So far I have been able to scan but not anymore, there is always the I/O error. I have also tried restarting the scanner and the computer, removed the scanner and added it back, updated the drivers, everything... still does not work.
I have never had as much problems with other scanners as with this one, but I would not like to go and by a new one yet, because this is not so old yet. Can anyone give any easy instructions what to do with the scanner? Does somebody know why this error happens?
