as the title describes, i have a samsung multi express x4300lx, today i had a printer jam.

i opened the right door, removed 2 intact pages and closed it.

the error didnt dismiss, ive searched through every opening i can find without using a screwdriver, even dropping the drums.

no paper left in sight.

google suggested i power cycle the machine, which removed the error!

it now has a print queue (in printer) and doesnt try to warm up, after some time the status changes to held.

clicking resume returns an error message "job cannot resume" or something of the sort.

ive checked the trays and they are all clear and fine.

my printer tech was also stumped and couldnt find a solution.

ive since, reset the data and memory.

assuming it is a software glitch,

still no bueno.

my latest findings suggest a firmware update/re install.

- i cant find the files online

- i found something on a ftp server but the printer is claiming the file type is not supported.

please help! i just spent $500 on a new developer and drum,

i dont have the funds to upgrade at the moment unfortunately.

what can i do???

First I would try shutting off the printer, disconnecting any usb or network connections and then restart to see if the printer will come to ready in stand alone mode. If it does, then it might be a corrupt or stale print job in the queue.

For windows based machines follow this link clear purge print jobs
