Hi @gibiu01

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The Samsung ML-1660 is a USB-only printer, so it doesn’t have built-in Wi-Fi capabilities. However, it is possible to set up wireless printing through a workaround. There are a couple of options for achieving wireless printing with a non-Wi-Fi printer like the ML-1660:

Option 1: Using a Wireless Print Server

A wireless print server is a small device that can connect to your printer’s USB port and provide it with wireless functionality. Here’s how to set it up:

Purchase a wireless print server: Look for a wireless print server with a USB port, such as:

  • TP-Link TL-WPS510U
  • IOGEAR USB 2.0 Print Server
  • Netgear PS121v2

Connect the print server:

  • Plug the USB cable from your Samsung ML-1660 into the print server.
  • Set up the print server according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This usually involves connecting it to your router via Wi-Fi and configuring the network settings.

Install the Printer:

  • Once the print server is connected to your network, install the printer drivers on your computer (either through the included CD or by downloading the latest drivers from the Samsung website).
  • During the installation process, you should be able to select the printer from the list of networked printers.

Start Printing:

  • Once everything is set up, you should be able to print wirelessly to the ML-1660 from any device connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Option 2: Using a Shared Connection via a Computer

If you have a computer that's always on and connected to your network, you can share the printer via that computer so that you can print wirelessly through it.

Here’s how to do it on a Windows computer:

Connect the printer to your computer: Plug the Samsung ML-1660 into the computer via USB.

Enable Printer Sharing:

  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on the ML-1660 printer and choose Printer Properties.
  • Go to the Sharing tab and check Share this printer.
  • You can give it a name that will be used when connecting from other computers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
