Hi @Marki72,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the toner might be getting re-deposited onto the paper due to residual toner on the transport components, possibly the transfer roller or the fuser. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue.

  • Check and Clean the Transfer Roller: The transfer roller is responsible for transferring toner from the imaging unit to the paper. If there is residual toner on this roller, it can cause repeated images. You can carefully clean the transfer roller using a dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid touching it with bare hands, as oils from your skin can damage the roller.
  • Inspect the Fuser: The fuser unit heats the toner so it adheres to the paper. If there is any toner residue on the fuser, it may repeat the toner pattern on the paper. However, be cautious while cleaning the fuser, as it can be hot and is a sensitive part. If necessary, turn off the printer, let it cool down, and clean the fuser rollers with a lint-free cloth.
  • Replace the Toner Cartridge (if needed): If the toner cartridge has residual toner that is causing the repeated pattern, replacing it may solve the issue.
  • Run a Cleaning Cycle: Some printers have a built-in cleaning cycle for internal components. Check the printer’s user manual to see if this option is available and run it if so.
  • Check the Imaging Drum (Drum Unit): If the drum unit is not properly cleaned, toner can sometimes stay on the drum and cause ghosting or repeating prints. Try gently cleaning the drum surface with a soft cloth, or if it’s worn out, consider replacing the drum unit.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
