Printer was working fine on my home network, then started misbehaving. Getting "SPL Error - Incomplete Session by time out" errors. Sometimes I get a page printed with the error messages, then after 10 minutes or so, maybe the file prints. When I check the printer on Easy Printer Manager, the status toggles between Okay (the green checkmark) and "Printer status is not available. Please check power and cable connection" (red X), every few seconds. The cables and connection are fine.
I uninstalled the Samsung software and reinstalled new versions from the HP website, to no avail. Can't get the Scan or Fax functions to work either from Samsung EPM. (Also, can't uninstall EPM). Is it drivers? Firmware? Is it the printer Sleep function? My network seems fine; printer is connected (blue Wireless light is lit). Thanks.

Are you connecting to a 5 Ghz network or 2.4 Ghz network connection? Printers often have trouble with 5Ghz connections and will fall off and reconnect constantly. The best advice I can give is to create a separate SSID on your wireless router for the 2.4Ghz channel and only allow the printer to connect to the 2.4Ghz network, which is more stable in most cases.

Thanks for your quick response. You are a very astute person. When I mentioned I hadn't changed anything, I forgot that my ISP-provided wireless router had failed earlier in the year and my ISP replaced it. They're both dual-band routers. The old one had both 2.4 GB/S (which I was using) and 5 GB/S activated; the new one had the 5 GB/S only. I had my ISP activate the 2.4 GB/S band and they did, but they gave it the same SSID as the 5 GB/S had been (they renamed the "5G" band). As an aside, there were other indicators of a network (not a printer) issue -- not being able to "see" the printer on the network -- but I didn't twig. Anyway, after a bunch of power cycles of various components to reset things, it appears my printer is connected wirelessly; at least Samsung Easy Printer Manager can see it (and make it scan and print test pages).
One problem remains: I can't "add" the wireless printer to my Windows 10 laptop and make it the Default printer. Windows can "see" it but keeps asking for the "WPS PIN" and says it's on the printer, or came with it. I have no idea what this is (it isn't my network password) or how to get it. In the meantime, I connected the printer to my laptop with a USB cable and at least I can use it to print, but this is a temporary measure until I can figure out the solution. Thanks very much for your advice; I really appreciate it.

Sounds like you are connecting to wifi direct on the printer, not through your home network. If that is the case the WPS PIn will appear on a network status report printed from the control panel of the printer or through the embedded web server. I would also ask your ISP if they can change the SSid of the 2.4 channel.

Thanks for your followup. My ISP is unwilling to change its network naming convention. I did find the WPS PIN but didn't need it. Somehow, between power cycling and disconnecting/reconnecting the devices, and whatever else I mucked around with (like reinstalling the software), the printer appeared on the Windows Control Panel and I was able to connect it and make it the default. So far, everything appears to work; I could even use the printer from my iPad. I want to reiterate my thanks to you; without you steering me in the direction of the 2.4 GB/S network, I would never have figured this out. Now all I have to do is make the printer work with my old iMac (which is my main machine).
