Is there really no more word from HP on this?
Can the person who opened a case, please chase it up, we all would appreciate it.

Helllo, at this point HP/Samsung hasn't provide us a 64bits printerdriver solution for our Samsung printer. A company knows for a long time, before a new OS will be out in the open, that that has an impact on their products.

If HP/Samsung doesn't response with a correct driver, they don't take their costumers seriously.... For that reason I am very disappointed. And with me a lot more, regards the reactions on this topic. / Rob

I gave up waiting and invoices needs to be printed asap. It’s almost Xmas, do not expect anything at least for another month.

Anyone to suggest another brand ? Similar mfc printer that Samsung did not manufacture ? Xerox definitely looks the same, even the buttons, speed, design so that the drivers but also the issues probably identical. I don’t want to experience the same problem with a brand new printer. Canon maybe ? Again any suggestion is highly appreciated.

VueScan is working as a charm. But it is not free.

Whilst you have to do your own research, have you looked at the Brother DCP-1610W ?

Hello there,

I have had the same issue with my M2070 (couldn't scan and couldn't print unter Mac OS Catalina). I found a solution that works fine for me, maybe it works with you as well:

Based on the solution of Paulie123 in his post you need to use the newly released printer driver for OS 10.15:

  1. Change the version of the driver to 10.15
  2. I downloaded the latest driver (Samsung_Mac_10.15_PrinterDriver_V3.87.00.zip) form HP's site
  3. Unzipped the file
  4. Run the pkg file in ~/Downloads/PrinterDriver/MAC Installer/MAC_Printer/Printer Driver.pkg
  5. This will will go through the install process, but mine threw an error twice ("InstallerApps") - press Cancel on the popups however, the installer continues and ends in success.
  6. Unzipped ~/Downloads/PrinterDriver/MAC Installer/MAC Data/Printer Driver.zip which created ~/Downloads/PrinterDriver/MAC Installer/MAC Data/Printer Driver folder
  7. Copy the file ~/Downloads/PrinterDriver-3/MAC_Installer/MAC_Data/Printer Driver/Group/PrinterData/Common/Model/M2070 to a folder that is not synched with the icloud
  8. Opened System Preferences > Printers & Scanners and hit [+] button to add a new printer
  9. Selected [Other...] under [Use] dropdown menu and selected the gz file Samsung 2070 Series
    1. Its possible that you might see the Samsung printers under [Use] -> Select Software, if so, you can select this.

Hope that helps! 🙂

I went to John Lewis today.  While there, the technician installed the v.3 64 bit driver on their Apple macbook with Catalina.  Unfortunately the 64 bit driver didn't solve the problem of printing lots of pages with funny symbols.   Happily, they accepted the return of the printer and refunded the purchase price under the two year guarantee.
