Hi @christows

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you’re trying to log into SyncThru Web Service but are having trouble with your ID and password. SyncThru is a web-based management tool for Samsung and Xerox printers, often used for controlling printer settings, network configurations, and print jobs.

If you've forgotten your ID and password, or can't log in to SyncThru, here are some steps you can follow to regain access:

1. Default Admin Login (if Reset to Factory Defaults)

If you haven’t changed the default admin login credentials or have reset your printer to factory defaults, you may be able to log in using the default username and password.

The default login credentials for SyncThru are:

  • Username: admin
  • Password: sec00000 (the default password is often 8 zeros)

Steps to Try:

  1. Open a browser and type the printer's IP address in the address bar. You can find the IP address by printing a Network Configuration Page from your printer's menu (often available in the Settings or Network section).
  2. Enter the admin username and sec00000 password.
  3. If it logs in, you can reset the password to something more secure via the Settings.

2. Reset the Printer’s Admin Password via the Printer's Control Panel

If you've changed the default password but can't remember it, you can attempt to reset the password via the printer’s control panel (if the printer allows this).

Steps:

  1. Go to your printer’s Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to Admin Settings or System Settings (depending on your printer model).
  3. Look for an option to Reset Admin Password or Factory Reset.
    • If you're able to reset the printer to factory defaults, this should restore the default admin credentials (admin / sec00000).
  4. After the reset, try logging into SyncThru again with the default credentials and change the password to something new.

3. Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults

If you can’t remember the password, and you’re unable to access SyncThru with any other method, resetting the printer to factory defaults may be the only option. Keep in mind that a factory reset will restore all settings to their original state, including network configurations and administrative settings.

Steps to Reset the Printer:

  1. Locate the Reset Option on the Printer:
    • Go to the printer’s Control Panel.
    • Look for Settings or Admin Settings.
    • Find the Reset or Factory Reset option. This may be under General Settings or System Settings.
    • If your printer has a reset button or a combination of buttons (like holding the Power and Cancel buttons), follow the specific steps for your model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
