Hi
I am stuck trying to get into the System Restore menu, when I turn the printer on it says "Loading". The document you sent says to disconnect the hdd cable and remove the side panel and press a button. I found the button but where is the side panel and hdd cable? The image seems to suggest the whole right hand side panel comes off, is this what I need to do?

I just had a look at the service manual and the specs state that there is no harddrive, but a previous post of mine would contradict that.

I have never actually seen or worked on this model. Your best bet would be to find a service manual online as that will have disassembly instructions.

Just to confirm so that we are on the same page. You first have to perform the recovery, but after that you need to update the firmware. These are two completely different software files.
In terms of boards, probably available, check Ebay or Amazon.

As per the instructions I sent, you need to download the firmware update file from support.hp.com and install that AFTER you perform the recovery.
