Hi @Chaabinfo

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "Prepare New Transfer Belt" or "Replace New Transfer Belt" error on your Samsung Xpress C483W is usually a sign that the printer has detected an issue with the transfer belt, which is a crucial component in the color printing process. The transfer belt moves toner from the imaging drum to the paper, and if it’s worn out or malfunctioning, it can result in print quality issues or errors like the one you're seeing.

Here's how to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Check the Transfer Belt for Damage

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the front cover of the printer and locate the transfer belt. It is typically near the toner cartridges.
  • Inspect the transfer belt for any signs of damage or wear, such as cracks, scuffs, or dirt. If the belt appears to be physically damaged or excessively worn, it may need to be replaced.

2. Reset the Transfer Belt Counter

  • Some Samsung printers have a counter that tracks the use of the transfer belt. If you’ve replaced the transfer belt but still get the error, you may need to reset the counter.
  • To reset the counter on the Samsung C483W:
    1. Turn off the printer.
    2. Hold down the Stop/Cancel button (red button) and the Power button at the same time.
    3. While holding these buttons, release the Power button and continue holding the Stop/Cancel button.
    4. Wait for the printer to enter maintenance mode (a sequence of lights will flash).
    5. Once in maintenance mode, press the Start button (green button) to reset the transfer belt counter.
    6. Release the buttons and power cycle the printer by turning it off and back on.

This should reset the internal counter and resolve the error if the belt has already been replaced.

3. Replace the Transfer Belt

If the transfer belt is worn out and a reset doesn’t fix the issue, you will need to replace the transfer belt. Here’s how to replace it:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Open the front cover to access the toner cartridges and the transfer belt.
  3. Remove the toner cartridges carefully, noting their color (they need to be reinstalled correctly after the belt is replaced).
  4. Release the transfer belt from its position. You might need to unlock it using a lever or a clip, depending on the model.
  5. Carefully pull out the old transfer belt and replace it with the new one.
  6. Reinstall the toner cartridges in the same positions.
  7. Close the printer’s front cover and plug it back in.
  8. Power the printer on and check if the error is cleared.

Make sure to buy the correct transfer belt designed for your printer model (Samsung C483W). The part number is typically JC96-05689A.

4. Check for Foreign Objects or Debris

  • Sometimes, dust or debris can get trapped in the transfer belt area, which might trigger this error. Carefully clean the area around the transfer belt and toner cartridges with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Avoid using liquids, as they could damage the printer.

5. Update Printer Firmware

  • In rare cases, a firmware bug may be causing the transfer belt error. Check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer on Samsung’s official support page or through the Samsung Printer Diagnostics Tool (or the Samsung Mobile Print app).
  • Follow the instructions provided to update your printer’s firmware.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
