HI all,

since I have updated the OS to catalina, the printer Samsung CLP 510 is not working anymore.

It looks like that there is no Samsung CLP 510 driver for catalina on the Mac.

Some idea, workaround?

Thanks in advance

What error message do you get?

I was getting errors like "“rastertosec” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified.", but I was able to identify the location of each of the files that MacOS was blocking, and override the security through Terminal.

See: LukeWest's post and my post in this thread: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Samsung/macOS-Catalina-and-Samsung-C48x-printer-not-working/m-p/730474...

Thank a lot for your answer!

I have 2 MACs an old and a new MacBook Pro. On the new one I am not able to install the driver because for Catalina doesn't exist. The last driver I found is for the OS 10.6 (print_driver_for_10.6.zip).

On the old Mac the is just an error "Printer error".

I configured the printer in a Virtual Box with Windows and it works fine. I tried to share it, to use it from the Mac, but it looks like that the MAC needs anyway a driver.

If for that reason I need to bay a new printer, I will never bay again a Samsung. The printer is very good but this problem is a shame, really.

Thanks and Regards

I guess I was lucky. My printer doesn't have a Catalina driver either, but it came over when I migrated to a Catalina system.

If you want to spend a lot of hours, you might be able to reverse-engineer it like this guy did for an NVidia driver:

And don't just avoid Samsung printers in the future, avoid HP too. They bought Samsung's printer division and seem to be abandoning it.

If the old MAC isn't running Catalina, you might be able to work with this:

Your printer isn't on the list, but sometimes work if you select a similar printer.

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunatelly it is using Catalina as well.
