Samsung Xpress SL-M2880FW Laser Multifunction Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I downloaded and installed the newest Samsung Easy Printer Manager. But when I click on the icon for this, the version that opens in the older version from 2022, 2.0.1.35. The same happens when I go into Windows list of all programs, and click on the this program.

How do I get the newer version installed version to load???

@STUPIDSIGNIN, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the Samsung Xpress SL-M2880FW Laser Multifunction Printer.

We appreciate the opportunity to assist you and are glad we could help work toward a resolution. We hope our support has been valuable.

Based on the provided HP support content, I can confirm that Samsung Easy Printer Manager is the correct app for your Samsung Xpress SL-M2880FW Laser Multifunction Printer, and on Windows it should open from the Samsung Printers program group.

STEP-by-STEP

  1. Open Easy Printer Manager from Windows search
In the taskbar search box, type Samsung Printers, press Enter, and then select Samsung Easy Printer Manager.
  2. Try opening it from the Start menu path
Go to Start > Programs or All Programs > Samsung Printers > Samsung Easy Printer Manager.
  3. Confirm the printer appears in the app
In Easy Printer Manager, check whether your printer is listed in the Printer List.
  4. If the printer does not appear, add or refresh it
The HP documentation says the printer list shows installed printers and network printers added by discovery. Use the app refresh/add function to update the list.
  5. Make sure you are opening Easy Printer Manager, not another Samsung printer utility
HP documentation notes similar Samsung printer utilities may appear in the Samsung Printers folder. Open specifically Samsung Easy Printer Manager.
  6. Check whether the installed version meets Auto Toner Ordering requirements
HP documentation references Samsung Easy Printer Manager v2.01.0.0 or higher (Windows) for some features. Your version number 2.0.1.35 is already in that major version family.
  7. If Windows still launches the older build
The provided documents do not include a procedure for forcing Windows to load a newer Easy Printer Manager build when an older one keeps opening. Based only on the provided sources, I don’t know the exact HP-supported fix for that behavior.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
