Hi! The "rubber" wheel that feeds the paper is not picking up a sheet completely, which causes a paper jam.  I've tried cleaning the wheel with water and with rubbing alcohol without success.  Any ideas on how to rejuvenate the thing?  It doesn't look like there is an easy way to replace it and I doubt a part is available.  Any ideas?  Don

The removing and replacing paper pickup roller is actually very simple. Here is how it is done the easiest way.

Load paper and send something to be printed, you will need to look inside of your printer and monitoring the rotation of the roller.

When roller rotates in a position like in the lower picture you need in that millisecond open print door, that will make printer and roller to stop. Unplug your printer from power, and on both sides of a roller, you will see 2 tab holders you need to push them aside to make roller pop out.  After that take a good look at the roller you will see that it is in D shape, rotate rubber for around half circle to make unused part of rubber to be part that will pick up paper.

I did my best to describe how it's done, maybe it sounds complicated but it's a 5-minute job.

Hi, Valsimot!

I've got the roller positioned just as in your photo.  I am having trouble moving the retainers.  I've tried pushing and pulling the tabs, but he retainers won't move.  Do you have any suggestions on how to move them?

Regards,

Don

Hi I would like to assist to the best of my ability to solve your problem.I hope the information i supply will be of help.

Thanks for Valsimot's nice picture. On the left and right hand side there is clips like square little blocks.I normally use a long nose pliers and move these one to the right and one to the left. The feed wheel release.Inspect the rubber or maybe just move the flat spot away from the current position.Hope this will help .

Thanks, Copier Pro.  I pry the tabs away from the feed wheel but cannot slide the circular clips.  With the tabs flexed I can rotate the feed wheel on the axle.  I think you and Valisimot are suggesting to reposition the rubber track on the feed wheel and return the feed wheel to its original position on the axle.  Is that correct?

Here's a video on how to remove the feed tyre . Once off you should be able to rotate the rubber tyre to get some unused tred into the pickup area of the roller.

Misfeeds? Paper jams? Change the rubber pickup roller and your Samsung printer will feed paper like it was new! Same procedure on the ML2010, ML2570, ML2571, SCX4521, SCX4725, CLP350 and many others (see long list of models below). TO BUY a pickup roller, go to eBay and search on "Pickup Roller ...
