My Samsung MultiXpress 6555nx stopped working and 'System Recovery' appears on the display. I searched the web for more info and it appears a file named rootfs.tar.gz is needed on a memory stick in order to reinstall the system. I cannot find this file on the web. I replaced the internal hard disk as it contains bad sectors, hence the System Recovery error message.
Contacting HP support failed as my printer serial number is not recognised, so i'm stuck here.
Can anyone help me to obtain the file needed to reinstall the printer system?

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, my printer does not appear in the FTP list. Is it compatible with other models?
Edit
I went to the ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/SCX-6555NX/ folder and noticed recoveryFW.zip
This file contains the recovery image rootfs.tar.gz
Thanks for pointing me into the right direction.

The link I provided in this thread should have the files you need.
