YURIS, What I meant was to check if the ribbon cable is firmly connected to the optical scanner bar. Because it is located under the glass of the flatbed, you would have to open up the unit. If the user is at a point that he/she is about to replace the bar, they will have to open it anyway. The rationale here is that it is more likely that the cable is loose that it is that the scanner bar went bad. I hope this clarifies my earlier comment.

Exaclty same problem here. C480W. Same white stripe size, even.

 

Just a few weeks ago, it started for no reason.

 

Isn't strange that this problem happens right now to so many people?
