Hi,
I solved the problem.
Delivered by the producer pack consists of 2 exe files. The update procedure is described as follows:
Update Procedure
1) Make sure that the machine is connected to the PC with a USB cable or network
2) Check the currently firmware version of printer.
3) If the firmware version is V3.xx.02.00 and more higher, Go to No.4 Step.
If the firmware version is V3.xx.01.xx, Execute SCX3405W_Patch.exe
And then patch rom will be download on the machine
Please wait until rebooting the machine(about 3 minutes)
Because my FW was <2.0I run the first exe, the printer rebooted and then went crazy (as described in the first post). The printer had FW 1.99 (which actually is not listed by the producer, the highest one is 1.19). I have tried to run the second exe but it stopped me with the message "Wrong program" . So I uninstalled the printer from the system, unplugged it from USB, and plugin again. The printer was recognized properly, drivers were installed. Then I run the second FW updater and voilà, it successfully updated the printer. I hope it will help.

If the printer is not reacting there is not much that you can do. You can try a power drain by disconnecting the printer from the power and keep the power button press 10 seconds, but if that doesn't work I do not know any other way to recover the printer since a Firmware upgrade cannot be undone.
