Waste toner tank is a plastic container that is used to collect wasted old toner. The location depends on the printer model, some of them have it on the front, some on the back and some models on the left side.
The waste toner is user replaceable part, and the user needs to replace it when it gets full (the printer will prompt user) replacing will take minute or two, and the price of the new waste toner tank is lower than other consumables.
Emptying waste toner instead of replacing it with the new tank is not a good idea because you can inhale wasted toner, and you can't empty it so good because the printer uses light to read the level of toner inside the tank.
