Hey everyone,

ok so I'm new to photography and I am still in school so I though what better way to practice then to take pictures there. I was trying to get them from my camera to a laptop but it deleted all of them. I thought out was a glitch so I went and took a couple photos and tried again. all that showed up was the photos from today. if anyone has ANY idea how to get them back in put would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks!

If you used the same memory chip to take the second batch of photos you have badly damaged your chances of recovery. You can try this program https://www.easeus.com/ad/data-recovery-wizard.htm?source=dsa&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyJ3vptC...

You will unlikely find a free program that will do a suitable job. Data recovery is a delicate task and to get any meaningful data back you will pay something.

Hey there, I’m really sorry to hear that happened—it’s so frustrating to lose photos, especially when you’re just starting to build your collection and practice your skills!

Something similar happened to me once when I accidentally deleted photos during a transfer. Don’t worry—there’s a good chance you can recover them.

Here’s what worked for me: Stop Using the Camera/SD Card Immediately
This is super important! When photos are deleted, they’re not completely gone—they’re just marked as “free space” and can be overwritten by new data. Avoid taking more pictures or saving anything to the card.

Use a Recovery Tool on Your Laptop

There are some great recovery tools for SD cards that work wonders. I’ve personally used Recuva (it’s free) and EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, and both worked well. You just need to connect the SD card directly to your laptop via a card reader and let the software scan it for deleted files.

Try Photo Recovery Apps (if using a camera with internal storage)
If you saved the pictures to your camera’s internal storage, a tool like Photos Recovery by Systweak or DiskDigger can help. These apps can recover deleted photos if the camera storage is connected to your laptop or scanned directly.

Be Patient During Scans
The software might take a while to scan your storage, depending on its size. Once it’s done, you’ll likely see your old photos pop up—hopefully, including the ones you lost!

I hope this helps, and fingers crossed you get those photos back! Let me know if you need more tips or help with the recovery tools. 😊
