hello,
just upgraded to windows 10 pro 1803 and the scanner doesnt recognize in my multifunction device. it prints but the scanner wont recognize. i turn it off and on, unplug it and turn it off and on. i tried different usb ports and it still doesnt recognize the scanner any longer connected. the scanner is still running throught the warm up movements although no connection with the software easy document creator. i downloaded the newest software from the website and updated the drivers and it still does the error, except now it says a more complex error and "i/o error while communicating with device" with the new software update. the last time i scanned something was a few months ago and it worked fine.
im not sure. any ideas?

Also encounter problems with my Samsung SCX-3405W printer. There seems to be a bug in the Easy printer manager.
Printing is fine but scan fuction is unavailable.
I also notice there does not seem to be any support since Samsung transferred the suport for its printers to HP.
What was once a fine machine is now cripple by somekind of update... could HP please look in to this?

solved:
a software update was released since the problem. i downloaded a new software release for win 10 for the printer/scanner, here on hp.com. it was in the support. it appears that the software couldnt do its job any longer, so a whole new software had to be written for the printer/scanner to work after the win 10 update. i just downloaded it and installed it. its got a new look. i tried it and it works excellent. good to be up and running again, after a long while.

I found out that "easy printermanager" does not include "easy document creator" which is not included in the download site for the scx-3405w. It can however be download seperately at the download-page of another similar samsung printer!
After installing easy document creator the scanner is recognized and works again...
