2 Sided scaning (full program not available?)

I am need to scan ASAP 2 sided documents, I look at the forums and see I probably need to install full software.  I see the links in the answers, but get error 500.

So I went on the HP home page and looked it up and downloaded the HPEasyStart_17_2_17.exe

I installed it, but when the installer came to install the software, it brought back a 500 error.

Can anyone help ?

Welcome to the HP Community --

The full driver is available.

Easy Start is excellent or can be problematic --

For this older printer, perhaps best to avoid "Easy" if possible.

For reference: 

Your printer supports the "Printer Assistant" container / shortcut.

Download, Save, and Install.

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in

Containers, Shortcuts on the Desktop

            What about HP Scan?

Once installed, the full driver printer software will have added one of two "container" shortcuts on the Desktop:

• Printer Assistant - named for the printer model

OR

On newer printers and when the new full driver printer software no longer supports the Printer Assistant:

• Scan Assistant - named for itself

Next,

The full driver printer software, once installed, will have added a shortcut icon for HP Scan. 

The shortcut for HP Scan that is part of the full driver might be named for the printer model.

Separately --

For models that support the feature AND when installed --

Installation of the HP Universal Scan Software adds an "HP Scan" self-named shortcut icon to the Desktop.
