Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Photo Smart S20 scanner
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

My slide scans occasionally have some completely unwanted "cropping": eg part of people's heads in the top row of a group photo chopped off, etc. Most slides are actually perfectly scanned, with no differences between the original and scanned image details. I can't work out why this happens! It is only the top and bottom edges of a landscape-format slide, not the left/right sides.

This very old (2001) S20 scanner does not work on Windows 7, so I run Windows XP on a virtual machine in my Windows 7 box, which is a Compaq Presario CQ42 laptop. I have no idea if that creates this occasional problem, and if it is worth removing Windows 7 Professional and installing Windows XP Professional from the original Microsoft CD? I can try this if necessary, but hope I don't have to. Apart from this problem, this old scanner performs superbly!

Thank you for any advice (this is my first visit here).

I solved my own problem when I realised you can adjust borders in the slide scan preview, just like in a flatbed scanner!
