HI,
I have a HP7520. It prints and copy's, but won't scan to my computer. When attempting a scan everything is fine until I hit start. It says "Preparing to scan..." then gives an Error Message....
No Connection
No computer is connected. See printer Help and
documentation to troubleshoot the connection.
I was scanning on the bed and then had to feed a long document into the Document feeder when it stopped scanning. I have unplugged the printer, ran updates from HP, restarted my computer, and reset my router.....I'm stumped.

Hi,
You have to start from your computer first:
- Double click printer icon on desktop,
- Select Manage Scan to Computer
- Click Enable -
You can start this automatically with Windows BUT you will get an arror message if you turn on the computer BEFORE the printer.
Regards.

Hi, I didn't even know that I could initiate a scan from the computer. I'd always done it right from the printer screen. Thanks for the lesson.
What I figured out, while using your information, was that the document I was trying to scan was outside allowable parameters. For some reason which I can't fully explain, even though I tried doing it repeatly, is that once the too long document went through the scanner, it locked everything up. Once I found the manual method to enter scan commands, all I had to do was manually open a scan dialog and everything started working.
Thank you for your help.

@Riddle_Decipher
I'm sorry. Your instructions did not help. I could not find anything that read "Scan to Computer" while trying to follow your instructions. I even tried via the Control Panel. Before we upgraded to Windows 10, this printer (HP Photosmart 7520) scanned. Since we do not scan very often, we hadn't noticed a problem - until recently.
We we always scanned to email, not to computer. We even called HP about the problem!
Any other suggestions?
