When I scanned the photo, the highest resolution the HP software allows me to use to scan a color photo was 300 ppi. I did click on the "more" arrow in the upper right corner of menu which took me to screen that would allow me to change scan resolution, but my only choices were 75, 100, 200 or 300.
I tried the scan doctor and selected the twain driver. Scan doctor said it was working fine.
The 7740 specification says it will print up to 1200 ppi. that is one of the reasons I bought the 7740 (it would scan to higher resolution that the old 8610). 300 ppi is not very good for photos. Is there way to get up to 1200 ppi and i just did not see it?

Hi,
Scanning higher resolutions are supported by the Flatbed Glass only.
Change the Scan Source from Automatic Document Feeder to Flatbed Glass, then higher scan resolutions will become available.
