My ADF works for copying, but not when scanning.  No paper stuck in the feeder. Loaded only 6 sheets with no tears, creases, or dog ears.  What else can I troubleshoot?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

I understand that you are facing issues with scanning. I'd like to help!

 

Can you download and install the FULL featured printer software from HP for your operating system: Click here

 

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

 

When scanning using the HP Scan from the FULL solution software, please ensure the Source is selected as "Use Document Feeder if loaded"

Thank you.  I appreciate ur advise.  However,  not technically savvy I'm concerned where to find the right software,  stepping thru questions and screwing up the system completely.   Initial printer installation created problems to the extent that I had to return the printer.   New printer printed intermittently,  inconsistently, and after 3 month of problems it settled down.  I can now print with out too many issues.
