OfficeJet Pro 8610
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Officejet Pro 8610 has an alignment issue when scanning and copying.  The scans / copies are consistently "rotated" counterclockwise by maybe 5 degrees.  This happens whether the original is on the glass or when using the document feeder.  Printing from a file produces straight, aligned pages.

The problem may have been getting progressively worse over the last year, and is quite annoying at this point.  Aligning the print head has not helped.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Seems like the scanniing mechanism may have deviated.  When scnaning from ADF, please use the guides.

When scanning from glas, one way to counter the 5 degress is to place it "slanted" -5 degrees.

An easier way would be to use software to rotate the image after scanning.

Try this software:

HP Scan Extended

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

Once the document is scanned, go to "More" (top righ hand corner) > "Manage Images", straigten the image as desired)

Hope that helps!.

Thanks for the guidance.  The software should help me correct the misalignment, and thus extend the useful life of my printer.  Your help is much appreciated!
