HP 7640 ADF failure and failure to print from Flatbed

does print from iPhone, computer

all rollers cleaned

Completed cleaning all rollers, removing plug etc, still adf frozen will not allow paper to be uptakes and flat bed  will not recognize image to copy. Prints fine from computer or iPhone Mac 10.15

printer thinks paper already loaded in ADF but there is no paper trapped or that can be introduced 

also will not copy on flatbed

all rollers cleaned

plug in and out as suggested 

no result

can't print from flatbed or adf but easily prints from iPhone or computer

Hi @Chongers

 

I understand that the ADF and the scanner bed is no working.

 

Try and make a copy with the lid up and check if the scanner bar lights and if it moves.

 

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

1. Scanner bar does not light or move  with lid up , paper on glass bed and copy pressed. Message is Feeder not able to pick up original and blank sheet comes out in front.

2. With lid down, rollers of ADF tray do not move to accept attempt to feed paper.

3. Several tries with plugs out and in, rollers cleaned, holding power button etc to no avail.

4. Is a cable or part to the rollers not functioning, need replacement or repair; or , need a new printer?

It is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty.
