I have a Officejet Pro 8600 N911n for about 6 years now and for the past 2 years, I am no longer able to scan anything from the ADF. The paper will begin as if it is going to scan that not go any further till the jamming message appears on the screen.
Please let me know if anyone has a way I can resolve this as I use this printer often since I am a telecommuer.
Thanks!

Thank you for posting your query on HP Support Community,
Are you able to make a copy from the ADF? What happens when you try to make a blank copy from ADF
Have you tried to clean the paper feed rollers?
Let's try these steps here:
Let's start off by updating the printer firmware. If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to install the latest firmware update on your printer from our HP support website. Alternatively you can also try to update the printer firmware directly from the printer control panel.
For more details on how to update, please use this link: HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to do a hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Remove USB cable, if present.
Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Let’s first try and make a “photocopy” to determine whether the issue is with the printer or not. Place a document on the scanner glass and choose “Copy” option. If the printer is making a good copy, then the printer hardware is fine.
If it does not happen, then this looks like a possible hardware failure. Before you come to any conclusion, I would suggest you follow the steps suggested in the support document for - HP Officejet Pro 8600 Printers - The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) Does Not Pick Paper to clean the rollers and hopefully get it to pick up the paper.
