HP Smart Tank 615 Wireless All-in-One

Hello, I'm from the Philippines and our Legal is 8.5 x 13, otherwise known as Folio. In Page Size of the Scanner in HP Smart, it could not be selected in the Page Size, nor could I add a custom Page Size for the scanner.

How do I add this custom page size in the Scanner? Thanks!

HI @Bonchie,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To add or adjust a custom page size like 8.5 x 13 inches (Folio) for scanning in HP Smart, you need to use settings that accommodate custom scan sizes. Unfortunately, HP Smart might not directly support adding custom page sizes, but you can work around this limitation using the following methods:

1. Use HP Smart with Workarounds

HP Smart software has some limitations regarding custom page sizes. If HP Smart does not allow you to add a custom page size directly, you might be able to work around this by using a different method:

Scan Using a Standard Size and Crop Later:

  • Scan as Larger Standard Size: Scan the document using a larger standard size such as "Legal" or "A4".
  • Crop and Adjust: Use an image editing or PDF editing tool to crop the scanned image to the desired size (8.5 x 13 inches).

Check for Software Updates:

  • Update HP Smart: Ensure you have the latest version of HP Smart. Sometimes updates include new features or improvements.

2. Use HP Scan Software or Drivers

If HP Smart doesn’t support the custom size, try using the HP Scan software or drivers that come with your printer/scanner:

Install HP Full Feature Software:

  • Download: Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model to download the full-feature software.
  • Install: Install the full-feature software and drivers. This suite often includes more robust scanning options compared to HP Smart.

Access Scanning Settings:

  • Open HP Scan: Launch the HP Scan software (HP Scan and Capture, HP Solution Center, or similar).
  • Select Scan Settings: Choose Scan Settings or Preferences.
  • Set Custom Page Size: Look for an option to set a custom page size or adjust the dimensions.

3. Modify Scanned Document Size

If you’ve scanned the document using a different size, you can resize or crop it using image editing or PDF software:

Use an Image Editor:

  • Open the Scanned File: Open your scanned file in an image editor like Adobe Photoshop, GIMP, or even built-in tools like Microsoft Paint.
  • Crop to Size: Resize or crop the image to 8.5 x 13 inches.

Use PDF Editing Software:

  • Open the PDF: Use a PDF editor like Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Adjust Page Size: Resize or crop the PDF pages to 8.5 x 13 inches.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
