Hi,

Make sure you have the latest HP Full Feature Software installed, among the IRIS OCR program:

HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads

 

Click on Add more software and be sure to install I.R.I.S OCR.

 

From the HP Officejet Pro 8720 software select Scan > Scan a Document or Photo and select Save as Editable Text to scan OCR:
