Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan

When scanning with my previous hp All-in-One I was able to 'Add pages'  but, I don't seem to have that option with my new printer.

It would seem that I have to do a 'new scan' and save it to the same file whereas with my old printer I could scan the first page and then simply add pages even if I had say a dozen or more pages to scan.  I could then save the entire scan to whatevr file I wanted.

Does anyone know if there is a way that I can scan more than one page without having to constantly do a 'new scan'?

Many thanks

Scanning issues…

Please try this scan solution:

HP Scan Extended

For Windows:   ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

Check all your settings and expand all tabs and all + signs to see all options.

Make searchable PDFs scans with this free scanning software - https://www.naps2.com/

Let us know.

Hello sabretooth04, thank you for your input.  I have downloaded the HP Scan Extended but when I try to run it I get a message that says " The HP imaging device was not found".

Any further thoughts please?

Thank you.

Ahhh... you have computer problems.

Fully de-install and remove the printer and all its software.  Use this program here:

http://www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php

When shown use Powerful Scan at the end and delete all registry entries shown for the printer.

Now go back and reinstall the Full Featured Software and Drivers from the HP web site.

Thank you again for trying to help but, I really dont want to be uninstalling my printer and starting again.  I spent almost 2 hours on the hp chatline yesterday, they were setting my printer up for me so that I could make use of instantink.  Everything seems to be working fine except for the problem that I originally posted, i.e. not being able to 'add pages'

If I really do have to uninstall to get over the problem then I think that I will manage with what is there.

Thank you though for your efforts.

OK, but losing the add pages and have the program that I posted fail, tells me you printer software and drivers are corrupted.

Have a good day.

Hello again sabretooth04.  I am just wondering if there is something that I am missing with this process. As I am a grey haired old codger, it is more than possible that I might not be seeing something.

When I place a document on the flatbed ready for scanning and the process starts, once the scan is complete, where should I be looking to find the 'add page' icon/choice ?  Perhaps I am not looking carefully enough.

When I was on the 'chatline' with hp yesterday, the guy that was helping me downloaded all of the software by way of remote access and got everything going so that my printer would inform them when I am getting low on ink.  I would imagine that he would know what he is doing.

As I say, perhaps it's me not doing something correctly.

Thanks again

Hello,

OK, let's go over this.  First in every case when the above HP Scan program shows 'The HP imaging device was not found', has always been a software driver problem fixed by reloading the Full Featured Software and Drivers from the HP web site.

Performing this will not effect your Instant Ink.  If it does, you have more issues.

Download and install the IOBIT Uninstaller and find and select the HP Printer.  Perform the full uninstall and make sure at the end you perform the Powerful Scan at the end to totally remove all Registry entries.

After that now install you Full Featured Software and Drivers here...

Thank you so much for all of the effort being put in to help me over my problem.

Before I actually uninstall the hp software and start again, which I don't really want to do but if it comes to it I will have to, I have hopefully attached an image of something that 'I scanned earlier':smileyhappy: If someone could tell me if I am getting the correct screen when scanning and what would be different if the option was there to 'add pages'.

There is another question I would like to ask please.  Is there some way that I can do a scan or copy directly from my computer screen without having to get down on my knees to use the screen on the printer.  When I choose scan from the printer, it does then appear on the pc screen but I would like to control it all from 'up top' as it were.

Big big thanks to sabretooth04.  I really didn't want to uninstall my printer and start again from scratch but, I had to go that route in the end and so I followed sabretooth04 instructions to the letter and everything is now working perfectly.

Many many thanks.

If you have a similar problem to mine, go this route, it really is very straightforward.
