This is an OfficeJet Pro 9015. I have unplugged/restarted/reset to factory defaults. Nothing works. When you look to setup the wireless network, it says:

You cannot use this function because it has been disabled. For more information, contact the person who set up the printer.

It worked fine before the firmware upgrade but now I can only connect via ethernet cable.

Hi @versailles3

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

Please try these steps:

2. Perform a Network Reset

  • To reset the network settings:
    1. Press the Wi-Fi icon on the printer’s control panel.
    2. Go to Settings > Restore Network Settings.
    3. This will reset the printer’s wireless settings and clear any previously configured network information.
    4. After the reset, try reconnecting to your Wi-Fi network by selecting Wireless Setup Wizard again.

3. Re-enable Wireless Setup

  1. On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup (gear icon).
  2. Select Network > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to reconnect the printer to your wireless network.

4. Check for Firmware Issues

  • Try Reinstalling the Firmware:
    1. Visit the HP Support page for your OfficeJet Pro 9015.
    2. Download and install the latest firmware update (or reinstall the previous one if the newer one is causing issues).

5. Manual Wi-Fi Direct Setup (if necessary)

  • If you are still unable to connect to Wi-Fi and need an immediate wireless connection, you can use Wi-Fi Direct to print without needing a router. Wi-Fi Direct allows devices to communicate directly with the printer.
    • On your printer’s control panel, go to Wireless > Wi-Fi Direct.
    • Enable Wi-Fi Direct, and your printer will generate a Wi-Fi Direct network. You can then connect your computer or mobile device directly to the printer via this network.
    • Note: This method doesn't use your home/office Wi-Fi, but it allows for direct communication between devices and the printer.

6. Factory Reset and Reconfigure Wireless

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
