Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

●After sending a fax using my HP printer, can I receive faxes with the same printer using HP services/ect.?

●Otherwise, if needing a separate fax machine to recreceive, then are there other things needed such as a landline and/or with additional setting up, and how much would this set me back?

●Also, if needing a separate fax machine to receive faxes, does that entail a separate additional phonenumber?

●What would the best fax machine product to use when on a budget?

●Also if needing a separate fax machine to receive faxes, then do I skip the sending out faxes services all together from current HP printer, if the separate fax machine does both receiving and faxing?

I at least have and use windows 11

 How to fax with an HP printer or fax machine

 

Unfortunately, "decent" does not identify the HP Printer model for us.

 

No matter -- You can certainly find the information you seek --

 

If your HP Printer includes the Fax hardware component and you can send Faxes from the printer itself, 

(then)

The "how to" information to use the Fax to "send" and "receive" faxes is fully explained in your printer's support website.

 

Open

 Printer Product Home

 Enter the device type and model name of your HP product

 

Open Category Setup and User Guides > Open the User Guide

Search for the chapter "Fax" (or similar"

 

Printers are one of those products where you get what you pay for.

 

In terms of the Fax component:

  • Pay less = No built in fax hardware - Use Mobile Fax (if / as available) for "send only" or subscribe to third part fax app products
  • Pay More = Built in Fax hardware - basic support - generally requires a phone land line
  • Pay More + More = Built in Fax, Digital Fax (save to network / save to email) - generally requires a phone land line
