After the latest HP Smart app update, i can no longer scan a document from the feeder on the printer

Since the latest HP Smart app update, I cant scan documents from my printer feeder, only from laying each page on the glass.  How can I select or set it back to feeder scanning for multipage documents??

• change the source to "Documents Feeder
• change the resolution to 300 dpi or smaller

I'm having the same issue.  you can't change any settings, on the main screen when you click Printer Scan, only the page window shows up to scan to glass.  the settings window that usually shows up to the left of it, allows you to change the setting from glass to document feeder (or something like that).  It's not there anymore.

All these choices are gone in the update.  You can only scan from the glass.  Grinding my legal practice to a complete halt.   Want to come over and scan 38 pages one at a time for me?  Thanks for turning my scanner into a giant brick.

1. Click Paper Choice box at the top of the screen (where it says 8.5 x 11)

2. ON the second line down change source to Document Feeder.

3. Can be done on the phone app or the Mac/App, but changes in one place do not impact the other.

It will still look like it is scanning from the glass, but just hit start and it will feed...

Mark, HP Smart has updated the software and for me, as an iMac user, does not offer an option in 'Source' or other buttons to select document feeder.  Can you assist?

Chelmreich, just read your solution.  Very clear and helpful.  crap update from HP.  overengineered solution with zero explanation on HP website.  Virtual assistant was useless... Thanks again.

Thanks everyone for guiding me to a workaround for a very terrible update that totally messes with a basic function that worked just fine before. I will reconsider my choice to purchase a HP printer in the future.

How do you do full duplex scan from the feeder? The app update appears to have removed that option.
