I reviewed your post and I understand that you are unable to scan after installing Mac OS Sierra.

I’d love to help!

Follow the below steps to fix scan on your computer.

Please download the driver from the below link and installs it.

After the driver is installed, perform the below steps.

1.) From System Preferences, click on Print & Scan.

2.) Click the Plus sign.

3.) Select the listed HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One Printer.

4.) Click the drop-down menu next to Use or Print Using and click on Select Printer Software.

5.) Select the HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One Printer from the list.

6.) Click OK to confirm your selection and add the printer, then try printing using the configured print queue.

7.) Use HP Easy scan for scanning.

Let me know how it goes and you have a good day ahead.

Very appreciative of the help...unfortunately, the answer does not work...had in fact already tried that...

I solved my problem by swapping printers with my wife (yes, she had the new printer)...I run OS Sierra with her (now my) printer...works perfectly...She runs OS El Capitain with my (now her) printer...works perfectly...she will not upgrade to OS Sierra..our problem is solved...again, thanks for trying...

Hello,

I just tried installing the driver below...the printer is working.  However, the scan utility says that the scanner is not available.

I am not sure what else to do.  It was working fine yesterday and not working today.  I am not sure what happened.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for your assistance/
