Hi,

My automatic feeder leaves a straight black line through a page whenever I use it.  It does not matter if I am scanning something or making a copy, it still does it.  I have tried to clean out the feeder, but it still does it.  I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions?  Thanks.

I do believe you cleaned the feeder.

Usually, this kind of error is indeed a tiny spec or bit of "something" either on the glass or in the groove between the ADF scanner glass and where it is seated into the printer.  Another possible trouble spot is the roller mechanism inside the printer.

:Arrow_Right: Use a flashlight (torch in the UK); shine the light at an angle along the glass.

Clean, clean, clean.

:Arrow_Right: Use a tiny brush to sweep all along the edges of the glass.
