I'm new to this forum so apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to put this. I am an artist who often draws with traditional materials such as paper and pencils. My family owns an HP Officejet Pro 8610 Printer that I usually use to scan my artwork so I can post it online.

I've noticed that whenever I scan anything, I have to put it on photoshop to fix the colors because they're ALWAYS washed out. I know this can happen if you place a thick sketchbook on the scanner since the lid won't shut all the way. However, I always remove the paper my drawings are on from my sketchbook, so it all lays flat. I even press down lightly on the lid, so no light comes in or out during the scan.

Am I doing something wrong? I want to know if there is anything I can do that will make the colors look more like they should. I hope somebody has a solution. Thank you.
