HP ENVY 6420e All-in-One Printer

Hello,

To all who’s helping, thank you in advance!

I’m using HP ENVY 6420e for scanning artwork and have downloaded the HP SMART app on both my phone and ipad.  (I don’t work from or own a computer.) The best dpi offered on my app is merely 300, even after choosing “Scanner Glass” as my Input source. I would like to use at least 600 (and the specs did say 1200).

Have searched under the Settings icon, but there’s no “Webscan” or even Advanced options. I’ve read other threads on Full Feature Software but … where can I get this or is this only applicable for those with computers? Please help.

Thank you so much!

Warmly,

Yanting

Hi Sandytechy20,

Thanks so much for your reply! I’ve updated my OS, uninstalled and reinstalled HP Smart App, couldn’t get past the warning of the next webpage (the one about a dodgy webpage and there wasn’t any Move On or Accept button, only a Go Back … Anyway, this printer was bought only 2 weeks ago so I’m assuming the firmware is still solid and up-to-date) … and all in all, it still doesn’t work. The ‘Best Resolution Quality’ offered is still 300 dpi.

I reached out to the HP customer support team, who said the scanning resolution for iOS goes up to only 300dpi. For higher resolution, I would need Mac or Windows. (I managed to borrow a Mac and yep, it was able to scan up to 1200dpi.) Hence, for customers like me who only have OS, this printer/scanner’s performance is limited.

Thanks again for the attempt.  I really appreciate it.

Warmly,

Yanting
