The Device is a HP Laser MFP 135W connected by USB here is the critical part of the dump analysis

SYMBOL_NAME: dvcshrk+84ef

MODULE_NAME: dvcshrk

IMAGE_NAME: dvcshrk.sys

STACK_COMMAND: .cxr 0xffffa904180ee290 ; kb

FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: AV_dvcshrk!unknown_function

I also use the SurfShark VPN Software that has a feature to block the webcam, but I deactivated it. But to verify I will unisnstall surfshark completely to check if the dvcshrk.sys will be removed.

Hi @MarkZielke ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand it looks like the blue screen crash you're experiencing when starting the HP Laser MFP 135W Scan is related to the dvcshrk.sys driver, which is associated with the SurfShark VPN software (likely for handling the webcam block feature, as you've mentioned). Here's how you can proceed:

Uninstall SurfShark VPN: Since you suspect SurfShark is contributing to the issue, uninstalling it entirely might help resolve the problem. Make sure to restart your PC after uninstallation.

Check the dvcshrk.sys Driver: Once you've uninstalled SurfShark, check if the dvcshrk.sys driver is still present in your system. You can do this by navigating to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and looking for the file. If it's still there, you may need to remove it manually or run a system file cleanup.

Update/Reinstall HP Drivers: If the issue persists after removing SurfShark, make sure your HP Laser MFP 135W drivers are up to date. Go to the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer. HP Laser MFP 135w Software and Driver Downloads

Run a System File Check: After removing SurfShark and ensuring the drivers are up to date, you can run a system file check (SFC) to repair any corrupted system files that could be contributing to the crash:

  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
  • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
  • Let the scan complete and follow any instructions.

Check Windows Event Viewer: If you continue to experience crashes, check the Windows Event Viewer for any additional error messages related to dvcshrk.sys or the HP printer. This could provide more insight into the underlying issue.

Let me know how it goes after you uninstall SurfShark, and if the issue persists, we can explore further troubleshooting options!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello, I first tried to turn of the WebCam Blocker in Surfshark Software, but still called BlueScreen. After uninstall Surfshark, Reinstall and no Turn On of WebCam Blocker no more BlueScreen / I solved this problem.
