Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Firstly, Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow steps from the link: Click here

Next, change the settings in the scan software to help improve the scan quality

the PDF settings are only available for document scans.

  1. Make sure the original document or photo is in good condition and free of tears, creases, folds, staples, or tape.

  2. Place the original on the scanner glass or into the automatic document feeder (ADF).

NOTE: Do not load photos into the ADF to prevent damaging them or the printer.
  3. Open the scan software, and then find the scanner settings.

  4. Change any of the following settings before scanning, if available.

    • Select the appropriate scan type: Make sure your scan type matches the object you are scanning for optimal quality.

    • Select either the color or greyscale scan option: If the original item is in color or greyscale, choosing to scan it in black and white can significantly degrade scan quality.

    • Increase the scan resolution: Increasing the resolution improves the scan quality, but it also increases scanning time and file size. A standard resolution of 300 dpi is acceptable for most text-based documents, while 600 dpi or higher is better for detailed photo scans.

    • Choose the appropriate file type: The file extension you choose can affect the final scan quality. For most scan jobs, PDF, JPEG, GIF, and PNG are acceptable file types.

    • Do not compress or reduce the file size: Compressing your scanned files produces smaller file sizes at a cost of lower image quality

  5. Scan the document or photo.

A preview of the scan displays in the software.

  6. On the preview screen, make any final scan adjustments, and then save the scan.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

HP Print and Scan doctor loops won't go past allow HP to better Meet your Needs, Data Colleciton notice and HP Privacy Statement online, press continue and get same screen.  Says if you receive this message everytime you launch utilize select the checkbox in data upload from the help menu - how do you get into app to get the help menu, press continue and just get same screen.

Rebooted printer again and scanning still blurry through HP Smart App.  Tried HP Scan extended and it gives error message the HP Imaging Device was not found.

How do I resolve these issues.  Using windows 10 and officejet pro 9018 connected over network.
